Term 4 began beautifully with a subtle change to the temperature and the promise of many positive events to come. We welcomed in a number of new starters in Reception with Ms Kotses and we conducted our first live to Bejiing Chinese language and culture lesson.
In Week 1 on Friday we welcomed the News Crew from Channel 7 to the school to conduct 4 live crossovers for the weather. We show cased our Moon Lanterns which we made over a series of workshops with a local Adelaide artist. They were created with the inspirations of nature, learning and love. The following evening in Elder Park our College participated in the Moon Lantern Parade for OZAsia. It was a phenomenal success with over 42,000 people present, dancers, singers, lanterns and dragons on show. Our College, having never participated in such an event were awestruck by the excitement, culture and celebrity like treatment we received.
Week 2 of Term 4 has been just as eventful. we have received a visit from Michael Hewitson AM the Mayor of Unley, we commemorated Oxi Day on the 28th of October through visits to our local St. Basil’s nursing home and we welcomed in three guinea pig babies to Coco and Toffee. (And it is only Tuesday!)
This Friday we shall be celebrating the College’s 15th anniversary as first stand alone Independent Greek Orthodox Primary School College in South Australia. We are looking forward to an evening of celebration; song, artwork and a historical slideshow displaying the many memories of the college.
We wish our College community and Parish community a positive and productive term as we near the Christmas period.
